Career Adventure Day (Day 2)
MAIN LIBRARY | 215 E. Third St. Dayton OH 45402
Career Adventures Day welcomes hundreds of students from schools across the region to explore and experience real-world careers in multiple fields. Designed in 2019, this program supports school systems with their state-mandated requirement to provide meaningful career awareness activities, and wows kids with a 21st century hands-on approach to exploration.
More than 900 middle school students from multiple school districts in the area are participating Thursday and Friday in Career Adventures Day at the downtown Dayton Metro Library. At this tradeshow-style event, students will move through different stations, exploring and experiencing real-world careers in:
- Construction/Skilled Trades
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Healthcare/BioScience
- Aerospace
- Logistics
- IT and more
Career Adventures Day is designed to support school systems with their state-mandated requirement to provide meaningful career awareness activities. With guidance from Career Connections Champions, Career Adventures Day helps meet these curriculum requirements.
“The need for qualified workers in our area is great,” said Diane Farrell, Library Director of Development and External Relations. “Meanwhile, these students will be looking for employment in just a few short years. Our goal is to show our young people that there are exciting, rewarding careers within reach.”
